(Three objects) Half fixed, old carved and charred

This piece is a conglomeration of: a broken window cling, with a gem on it,

a segment of an old piece of costume jewelry, and wood that I carved and charred.

It is all tied together with string, and it hangs in my window.

First the broken window cling, when this broke, I crudely taped the broken piece to the side of it.

I didn't “get the chance” to ever fix it and now when I look at it, it feels normal.

It creates an interesting half oval shape, opposed to what it originally was.

I feel it helps represent that there is still an appeal in even “half fixed” broken pieces.

The old costume jewelry helps add a sort of shimmer and reflectiveness that catches the eye.

The mix of circle and square within it help give the piece more interest.

And I the overall reflective could represent reflection in of itself mayhaps?

The wood that is carved and charred wasn’t supposed to be made into anything particular, the peace sign shape formed.

This symbol speaks for itself, and I’m drawn to it in my expression.

This serves as a sort of focal point. I had carved and shared little diamond type “sparkles” as well and put holes

in them, in the end the final piece formed as a sort of accident as I picked up things from around my room.

I really enjoy the reflectiveness of seeing every angle of this piece against a clear background, it is hanging in my

dorm, so walking in also offers another perspective, or even the way it reflects against the window in the dark.

Possibly using something like glass and sticking something to that glass such as a window cling will help show

this concept.
